Title

yorkie puppy sleeps too much

Question

what does it mean if my yorkie puppy is sleeping all day and night?

I just bought him 6 days ago. He was fine the first day but now he just sleeps and won't eat.

He drinks water and i give him his vitamins.

Is he sad or just needs to get used to the environment?

Answer

I would take your pup to a vet and make sure that there is nothing wrong with him.

But I think you are probably right in that he is settling in to his new environment.

Yorkie puppies do tend to sleep a lot, they are just babies after all. But if there is anything worrying you do check with a vet as you want to be sure it is nothing serious.

I ADOPTED A YEAR OLD YORKIE FROM A RESCUE CENTER AND SHE SLEEPS ALL DAY EXCEPT FOR THE WALKS I TAKE HER ON,AND SHE SLEEPS ALL NIGHT. SHE LEAVES LITTLE BLOBS OF HAIR ALL OVER MY RUGS. iS THIS NORMAL

I should of done my home work. My daughter bought Mia for me for my Birthday and she was very active.I took her every were and she would play very hard with allot of the family dogs. Then she suddenly after two weeks she crashed. She was not alert or eating. She was a finicky eater anyway. I brought her to the hospital. They did a run of blood work. She was fine but still not eating I tried every thing.They gave her fluids and the next day she seem to be fine,But still not eating much or active. The Family said don't worry she will eat when she is hungry.Then a week later same thing. Not as bad. Took her to the vet. More blood. She was fine. I was told to force feed her with wet food the Doc gave me 4 times a day. I did. A couple of day later she was back to her self.I started to feed her Ceaser wet food. She loves it. If I did my home work on this breed of dog. I would of found out they def sleep allot and on schedule. I would come home from work at lunch and she was still tired and did not want to eat. So I would make her. It would scare me. Then at 3:00 she would start to play then go to bed at 8:00. Now because I changed to the food she loves and makes sure she eats enough.And I understand her sleeping habits. It has been great. I bought a book as well as read comments on line. I should of done that the first day my daughter brought her home. She is such a great puppy.
