I am Coco

Hi,

I have a 4-months-old yorkie who is biting me all the time. I don't know what to do to teach him not to do it. He started biting my feet fingers, then my hand fingers and he recently bit my eyelid when I was having a nap. It hurts.

I would sincerely appreciate your advises.

All best & thank you,

Laura

Yorkie Biting
by: Daryl

Your puppy is young and probably playing with you, he doesn't realise that he is biting too hard.

Young dogs learn to stop biting people too hard when they are young through socialising and playing with other dogs.

Try finding your dog some playmates that he can learn from. Maybe some chew toys will help.

Coke can
by: Anonymous

You can correct any behavior problems with an empty coke can with 2 pennies in it. Shake it every time he does anything wrong & it will make him stop & not do it again. Good luck. I have had 6 Yorkies & love the breed!!

Vicious Bites
by: Rose

My yorkie is 9 months old and bites me viciously when playing. She bites my ankles, knuckles, pantlegs. Anyone else who comes in the house becomes a victom of hers. She is sweet and I love her but this biting has to end somehow. She also loves to put her nose into any "hole" she finds such as my my clevage, down into my hand when in fist position, between my legs, under my arms, and bend over and she hits your butt crack. It's as though she is looking for something. These two major behaviors is what I need help with. Thankyou.

biting yorkie
by: Anonymous

Hi,

Your little yorkie it seems has gained a bad habit.

Simple solution...when the puppy goes 2 bite...put your hand out with thumb pointing up...when the puppy bites..press your thumb down quickly inside the lower part of the puppys mouth..under the tongue.. it will not hurt the puppy but will cause discomfort.

The puppy will not realize you have done that..it will think it was the act of biting. This should solve that problem quickly!
