Clay dust environment - bad for yorkie?

Question

I am a ceramic handbuild potter and would love to have a yorkie. My daughter is worried that the clay dust may harm the yorkie. I keep a pretty clean studio. Do you think this would be a problem?

Answer

I am not exactly sure how clay dust can affect yorkies if I am completely honest with you. I have read that the inhalation of the dust can cause respiratory problems in dogs. Therefore it would not be a good idea to have a yorkie in that environment.

If you decide to go ahead with buying a yorkie I would advise keeping him out of your studio, just to make sure no harm comes to him.

If anyone has more information on exactly which respiratory problems clay dust can cause I would love to hear from you....
